Shelby Allen Memorial Scholarship
Mission
The mission of the Shelby Allen Memorial Scholarship is to remember the positive impact that Shelby had on the community through her dedication, enthusiasm, and leading by example in her coaching roles for the Nederland High School volleyball team. The scholarship awards funds to deserving graduating high school students who are chosen based on living out Shelby’s legacy through these qualities.

Volleyball Tournament Fundraiser
Each year, the scholarship hosts an Annual Shelby Allen Memorial Scholarship Volleyball Tournament for the local mountain community to come together and remember Shelby and her competitive spirit with a tournament
The 3rd Annual Shelby Allen Memorial Scholarship Volleyball Tournament was held Saturday, October 7th, 2023 at Pete Gones Memorial Park.

About
After the mountain community tragically lost Shelby and Cody Allen on December 11, 2020, a group of Nederland High School alumni who felt that Shelby had a profound positive impact on their lives as their former volleyball coach came together to create this scholarship in her honor so that future generations of young women in the volleyball program at the high school could also benefit from Shelby's generousity and impact, and so that her immeasurable contributions to the school are always remembered.
We also recognize that Shelby and Cody both had deep impacts on the community in so many other areas, and that there are other organizations that also are supporting remembering the couple. Peak to Peak Healthy Communities Project
The Shelby Allen Memorial Scholarship currently operates under the Peak to Peak Healthy Communities Project. The Peak to Peak Healthy Communities Project is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization.
