What to know before you apply:

Eligibility:

• Seniors only (graduating in May 2025)

• Must attend or be affiliated with Nederland High School or Gilpin High School

• Must participate on one or more women's athletic teams

Award Information for 2024 Award:

• 1st place: $1500

• 2nd place: $500

Application Components:

1. Completion of online application form including:

• <500 word essay describing how you live out Shelby's legacy of dedication, enthusiasm, and leading by example both on and off the court

• a copy of your unofficial high school transcript

2. Two letters of recommendation

   • • Recommendations must be submitted by your referrers through a link emailed directly to them. Submit your references' contact information well in advance of the application deadline here.

     • IMPORTANT: LINKS TO FILL OUT LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION WILL BE SENT TO THE CONTACT INFORMATION LISTED IN THIS FORM.  RECOMMENDATION LETTERS SUBMITTED BY THE APPLICANT OR EMAILED DIRECTLY WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED. 

     • It is HIGHLY recommended to fill this form out well in advance of submitting your application so that your referrers have time to compile the appropriate materials for their response. 

     • It is the applicant's responsibility to ensure that the letters of recommendation are submitted prior to the application due date. Applicants are encouraged to verify with their references that they have received and submitted the materials. Applications with late letters of recommendation will not be considered.
